Thanks Jenelle Hiney and Stephanie Weiland for capturing the magic at INNOVATEwest and to our entire team at RBCx for being in market together to support our ecosystem! The speaker line up, founders pitching, and tech partners in the rooms was on fire.I had the pleasure of chatting with a few friends on our panel Noah Shipman Sonny Gill Shamil Hargovan Control Freak - How to Raise Growth Capital Without Giving Up Your Company. We explored options that founders can consider as they are scaling by using less dilutive capital and when to ink which options: Grants (IRAP), R&D Tax Credits (SRED and SRED lending), Venture Debt, Working Capital Lines, M&A Funding, and Growth Equity.As your company ramps up and becomes more complex, different funders will come into your life cycle. There is no right or wrong when it comes to financing your startup, but you need to be strategic about it because the impact is long lasting and choosing partners with deep expertise is important.Debt continues to be very versatile as a way to extend runway after an equity round, fund an acquisition, drive buyouts, and provide working capital. Ask: what’s my need and what do I want to accomplish?
