🐇 How to Make An Easter Bunny Wreath

Begin by removing all the labels from your wreath supplies. If there is any sticky residue, use your nail or a damp rag to rub it off.

Attach the Bunny Ears

Then take the bunny ears headband and stretch out the headband a little (be careful not to snap the headband.) You want it loose enough that it will lay snug against the wreath.

Hot glue the headband into place across the top of the wreath.

Hold it firmly in place until the glue cools to form a strong bond.

Wrap the Wreath

Take one end of the marabou boa and secure it to the foam wreath with a greening pin.

Wrap the boa tightly around the foam wreath. Take special care to hide the headband so only the bunny ears are showing.

Secure the marabou boa occasionally with greening pins.

When your marabou boa runs out, secure the end with another greening pin and start the next marabouboa, and continue to wrap the foam wreath with the boa.

Continue this process until the entire wreath is wrapped in the marabouboa and secured with the greening pins.

Simple as that you now have a fluffy Bunny Wreath!

Now you could stop here and still have a pretty cute fluffy Easter Bunny Wreath.

But, I like to make my wreaths stand out a little more from everyone else, so if you want, follow along and we’ll add feet and a bunny tail.

Make the Bunny Feet

Using the the foam craft sheets, we will be cutting out little bunny feet.

You will need two white “bunny feet”, 2 pink heart shapes for the main foot pad, and6 little pink circle pads for the “toes”.

I used my fist as a size reference, and drew a bunny foot-shaped circle around my fist to create thewhite “bunny feet”.

Cut out each bunny foot circle.

Cut out 2 hearts and 6 circles from the pink foam sheets.

I eyeballed the rest estimating how big I’d need the heart and circles. The circles are approximately quarter sizes, but not exact. You can always trim down, so shoot a little big and then trim down to the size you need.

Hot glue the pink heart shapes and circles onto the white bunny feet.

Decide where you want the bunny feet to rest on the wreath. Move aside the marabou boa so you have access to the foam wreath below. Hot glue the foot into place. Then fluff the marabou boa back into place.

Repeat for the second foot.

Decide where you want the fluffy pink bunny tail and secure it into place with greening pins.

Add a small ribbon hanger. Decide how long you want your hanger to be.

Measure out the ribbon, fold it to make a hook, and hot glue it into a hook shape. Then hot glue it onto the back of the wreath (gently pushing the marabou boa aside). Allow the hot glue to completely cool to form a strong bond.

You can also secure it with a greening pin for extra strength.

Now you can hang your Fluffy Easter Bunny Wreath!

🪝How to Hang a Wreath

I’ve been asked many times, “How do you hang a wreath on the front door or wall if there isn’t already a hook in place?”

Over-the-Door Wreath Hangers are great because they’re super easy to use and won’t leave any marks. Plus, you can take them down in a flash.

The size you get depends on where you want your wreath to hang. Just measure how far down from the top of the door you want it to sit, and choose a hanger that matches that distance. Adjustable wreath hangers are my personal favorite – they let you change things up depending on the wreath you’re using!

Command Hooks are another great way to hang a wreath. These are easily attached to your front door exactly where you want your wreath to hang. Make sure the hook you select is rated for at least 5 lbs and is suitable for outdoor use.

When you take down your wreath, you simply remove the hook and wash off any sticky residue that might remain.

Command hooks aren’t as sturdy as an over-the-door wreath hanger though. I have had cases where in a hot day, the adhesive will heat up and no longer adhere to the door, and down goes the wreath and hook all in one.

But for the most part, if your door isn’t in direct sunlight, the command hooks work great.

**NOTE: I hung my Fluffy Easter Bunny Wreath on my Red pantry door. It’s a HALF-sized door, so it might make the wreath look a little bigger than it actually is.

To make a bigger bunny wreath simply use a larger foam wreath. You may need an extra marabou boa if you make a bigger easter wreath.

💡 Tips For Success

I like my spring crafts to last beyond just one year. These are a few tips I use to make sure this bunny wreath will stay securely put together as you display it on your front door this Easter season.

  • Hot Glue: where possible, use the hot glue on the hot setting. As it cools on the craft it forms a stronger bond, allowing the ears to stay put and not blow off in the wind.
  • Secure the Greening Pins: When inserting the greening pins, make sure they are fully inserted. If you want an added measure of certainty, you can put a tiny dab of hot glue on the wreath below the green pin and then push the pin into the glue. I’d advise wearing gloves if you do to prevent burns.
  • Avoid Rain. The best part of the bunny wreath is how fluffy the boa makes it appear. If it gets wet, it will look like a sad drowned bunny. If it is raining, bring your wreath indoors.
