Mixed POV

TERRITORY OBTAINED - PROCEEDING WITH UPDATE… UPDATE CONFIRMED, WELCOME USER TO SYSTEM 0.0.3!

Territory Maps Added!

Dungeons Revamped!

  • No more monster summon spells! The System has gained enough strength for its own dungeons - no User summoning yet though!

Sudden Events Added!

  • Sudden Events are sudden quests that happen based on criteria non-visible to the User. They can cause sudden boss fights, or timelock the world as the user is forced to fix something outside of their current world!

Intelligent Adaptive Isolative System Added!

  • The Intelligent Adaptive Isolative System, or IAIS is an quasi-intelligent shard of the creator of the System! It will occasionally assist the User for maximum comprehension of foreign issues that may be caused!

Other Changes will be up to the User to find!

Avis woke up with a start. The giant blinking screen, filled with floating letters hovering expectantly over him, loomed large in his sleepy eyes. It had been three days since his first meeting with Cleria, and his attempts to search for a home wasn’t going quite as planned - facing unconventional difficulties, such as he legally not existing. No ID, nor any giant organization that would assist with something as minute as housing. Calling Yasaka just left him holding on to a phone with the bell-like sounds of a giggling Kistune, before being told that he could figure it out. The new update helped his mood though.

With a simple focusing on his ‘Territory Map’ a map formed before his eyes, automatically dismissing the update notice. A map of Kuoh, with its outer ring highlighted, showcasing his ownership. ‘Neat; this will turn out useful. Ooh more menu’s!’ Avis went through the menus, learning the various features and limits of the map.

‘There’s only a few things of interest, outside of this just functioning as a map. Every being that’s super naturally aware is visible, due to now being in charge of the supernatural side of the land. There are some marked points of interest, the abandoned church, which I should head to, as well as a few warehouses that are marked red’ With a plan created, Avis started flying to his destination.

THUSIAMBORN

Avis felt more unease as he got closer to the Church. Not the type he expected devils to feel at a church, as if they were weak or powerless, but more as if there were spiders climbing all over his bones. An internal itch, a feeling of ‘not only no, but f*ck no.’ Getting within sight, it was easy to see why.

The ancient church, big, towering spire over the trees, yet overgrown, the building seemed to crawl straight out of a horror movie. The big black clouds roiling in the sky above it helped little - despite the fact that people walked past unconcerned.

CHURCH DUNGEON - RECLAMATION OF THE HOLY!

  • Difficulty: Baby’s First Dungeon
  • Restriction - No devil powers!
  • Rewards: Boosted Benefits
  • Proper Owner Ship of Church!
  • Conversion of Church from Christian to ####?
  • Gacha Tokens?

Enter?

The new black text showed exactly why people were unconcerned. Truly, the System had outdone itself in managing to be ominous and blatant while not causing the ‘NPC’s’ to run like headless chickens. Avis considered the text. His puny battle experience being a sore-point, needing to be amended while the answer stared at him. Avis pressed the button.

The world around him shifted, or Avis would reconsider, as he was now in a new place. The inside of the dungeon, a cross between a place of holy worship and a mausoleum forged of pearly white stones, glowed in ethereal light. Before Avis was a chest- which he opened. Inside, an oddly magical twig, and some boots made of plant matter.

“What the f*ck are these.” Avis spoke to himself, not expecting an answer.

Wand of Sparking- Terraria

  • Shoot controlled tinder

Jungle Boots - Terraria

  • Boosts Mana efficiency

“Oh. That helps' ' Avis put on the boots, simply stepping inside them, and searched the room, grasping tightly at the stick. Lightly glowing at the edge of the room, an old door, brown and overrun in nature. Avis walked right through, the door neither locked nor a mimic.

In the new room, circular in shape, and far larger in all dimensions than the previous room, Avis stood, awaiting. Around him, from the cracks in the floor, vines rose, each thick and sturdy, bearing a bulbous head, like weights at the ends of whips. Ceremoniously, all the heads split open, showing their dragon-like insides.

“Dragon Vines. We are in a church, and we start with plant enemies. Great!” Avis grinned wickedly, and waved his wand. Nothing happened. Avis stood shocked, the Vines floated shocked - it was a very interesting experience.

The Vines got out of their odd stupor first, stretching to bite the stunned Devil.

Attempting to dodge, Avis tripped on a crack on the floor, and fell backwards. “WHY THE HELL DOESN’T THE WAND WORK!” He shouted, miserably.

Try Putting Mana in it - IAIS

Avis, having forgotten that he is now magic, but not yet too magic, pushed the mana, an odd flowing feeling just below his lungs, into the wand; and waved.

A sea of sparks burst free from the wand- showering the incoming vines in flame.

An odd screech, not conventional sound but something similar, roared from the ground around Avis, as the various vines caught fire. From the fire, a single scorched dragon face presented itself. Burned at its everywhere, the vine was clearly on its last tentacle already, being overpowered by what was a low powered flamethrower.

The Dragon Vine’s jaw snapped open, spitting up acid towards the fallen Avis, scoring a hit directly on Avis’s arm. The smell of burning flesh and plant matter filled the air.

“ARGH!” Avis shouted in pain, dropping his control over his Mana. The sensation of pain reached through his nervous system, grasping his focus and mind, as his first true injury made itself intimately known.

Avis’s focus visibly lost, the Dragon Vine made its second move, slithering close, its jaw unhinging to bite Avis.

Danger isn’t over yet - IAIS

With the System’s declaration, Avis focused again, pushing the feeling of liquid lurking in him towards the unassuming stick, before swinging up, pain making it difficult to move more elaborately.

The swung stick slammed into the reaching jaws of the vine, slamming it shut as a burst of fire, similar to that of a roman candle ignited from the wand, scorching the bottom half of the dungeon enemy.

“Oh thank Ophis.” With that Avis passed out, no longer in pain.

THUSIAMBORN

Avis awoke, exhausted but ultimately uninjured. “Right… I forgot about the dungeon… I wanna go back to sleep, but it's best to get this over with. He stood, and saw in the center of the room, a hexagonal engravement on the floor, grooves clear of grass and burns unlike the rest of the floor.

Stumbling over to it, one arm held limply at his side from pain, the other grasping the Wand with all the strength he could muster, Avis observed the hexagon. The grooves in the floor were fresh, but rounded and smooth, differing visibly in the texture of the floor around it. With his full weight on the odd flooring, light shone from between the cracks. The platform rose, soft light emanating from beneath the elevator.

A bright flash covered Avis’s eyes, as he was transported to a new area. Open air surrounded him, appearing that of a clear night sky. Standing around the barricaded floor, were statues of men and women with bird wings. ‘Angels!’ Avis thought, observing his new surroundings. He was almost sure of exactly what his new enemy was. The statues surrounded him, one on each side of the hexagonal roof, each holding a very neutral pose, while showing full display of their wings.

With a crackle and pop, of joints long since rusted moving, the ‘statues’ moved, each of the six manifesting a simple weapon of light, spears and swords, with the most unique wielding a two handed sword larger than the angel itself. The swords rushed, their stony joints creaking in stress.

A swing of a wand, and a shower of sparks ‘bounced’ and slid off the stony skin of the faux angels, their stony skin and wings acting as both a shackle and a defense.

The ‘angels’ each swung their swords, simplistic motions but carrying surprising weight behind them.

Avis ducked, feeling the head of the light energy swinging over his head, nipping his hair, and rolled, creating distance between himself and the angels. Holding his wand in front of him, Avis flooded his mana into it, letting out a stream of sparks, the continuous flames enough to weaken the joints of the angels before him.

Behind the now melting ‘sword angels’ the spear angels threw their spears of light at Avis, who in his inattention had the spears pierce his abdomen, and launched him onto his back, the pain and the spears pinning him to the ground.

The ‘spear angels’ manifest a second volley of spears, as Avis uses his flared mana to protect his hand as he pulls the burning spears of light from his stomach. Struggling to stand, due to his now bleeding stomach, Avis sees the ‘Spear Angels’ next volley.

He stumbles towards the angels, their light weaponry flaring with power, before they launch the spears once again. The hole in his stomach grows smaller, his elevated recovery stat healing him of the faux angels' fake holy light weapons. Avis summons his sacred gear, and absorbs his wand. Then, he raises his hand in preparation;

.

The next volley of spears are fired, each speeding towards Avis teeming with magical power. Yet the spears never hit, the gloves Avis wore sucking in the spears, providing Avis with more magical power to heal with.

*Recovery 25->26!*

Avis uses the moment to rush forward, getting even closer to the angels, and palms still raised, wills his sacred gear to activate once more. The Vacuous Kirby sucks air from the stony angels, the cracks in their stony bodies widening

The angels, with their bodies falling apart, throw their last spears, just as Avis reaches them. But, because of how close Avis was, the statues were incapable and missed their shots.

With his palms, and more importantly, his Sacred Gear, in contact with the False Angels, Avis activates his Sacred Gear one more time, this time devastating his Stony foes, leaving gaping holes where their chests used to be.

*Recovery 26->28!*

Seeing its allies fall and crumble to dust, the angel with the largest sword, one bigger than the rest in both size and weapons, finally shifts, unfurling a second set of wings. These wings weren’t made of stone, like the rest of the statues. They were pitch black, seemingly absorbing the light of both the sword he wielded and the light of the moon. It raised its sword, and swung straight down, a beam of light firing from the sword and aiming towards the unprepared Avis.

Avis, not having the foresight for some reason to see the attack coming, doesn’t prepare the block. “WHY DO YOU HAVE LASERS!” The beam hits him head on, getting launched into a lightly raised platform.

Falling to his feet, standing with miraculous strength, Avis stares at the statue with his eyes wide, as it very slowly prepares to strike again. Covered in swiftly healing burns, Avis stands almost naked, wearing what remained of his pants and the Jungle Boots he got in this dungeon. ‘WHAT THE HELL! THAT NEARLY KILLED ME!’

Not wanting to give a chance for a second strike, Avis planned. With his Kirby, which to him was still a stupid name, he could eat and recover, but that implied that the gear could eat a laser. However, he did have a few skills he could use, those he picked up from that Tengu in Kyoto. Mainly, flight, which he now had a bit of experience with. Opening his wings, Avis started his ascent into the ‘open’ skies of the dungeon.

The angel, finally done recharging its attack, aimed up and fired another beam of holy light, but it whiffed Avis completely.

‘That damn angel is back on its recharge. Now is my chance!’ Avis rushed towards the Stone Angel, and made contact directly with the sword of the angel, and once again, activated his sacred gear, completely consuming the sword itself.

*Phys 20->24*

The Angel, now unarmed, was incapable from stopping Avis’s next action- who placed both palms onto the head of the angel, and CONSUMED. The head of the Angel disappeared into Avis’s palms, a mixture of multi-color dust being consumed by the powerful Predatory sacred gear.

“Huh. I’m no longer homeless.” Avis floated a few inches off the ground, as the world around him shifted from an open air dungeon to the inside of the worn down church he saw earlier. No longer could he feel its ‘itchy’ energy. Worn down from the experience of back to back combat and constant regeneration, Avis went to one of the benches, tested its strength, and went to sleep.
