Valentine’s Day Gifts Your Partner (and Pet) Will Love (1)

If your house is like mine, I’m someone who is obsessed with dogs, the amazing way they make you feel and see the world. For my life would be so empty if I did not follow my passion for dogs, and I truly feel saved by my Buddy, Kenga, Doba and Kobe.

Having a pet parent as your Valentine means there’s even more love to go around. And gift-giving is so much easier, too!

Here are a few of my favorite ways to spoil your partner (and their pet!):

1. A pet subscription box.

Your love can have more than one Valentine’s Day when a pet subscription box arrives in the mail every month or quarter-year. There are treat-and-toy monthly crates packed full of surprises.

Inspired by my own journey as a devoted dog mom overcoming stress-related health issues, I started Dog Mom Lifestyles ‘Dog Mom Box’. I know a life with more well-being can start with just ONE simple ritual of self-care. And it’s even better when shared with our dogs!

Ideally, a pet should have more than one water bowl. A multi-pet household definitely should have several.

A unique pottery bowl adds beauty or whimsey to an extra corner in the house, and encourages pets to drink up. Make sure that the dish you select is food-safe. Then remember, mom needs her own drink, too!

Check out my rustic-style Dog Mom Mug. It is the perfect addition to your farmhouse decor, and just the right size to enjoy a delicious hot beverage while cuddling up with your pup by the fire.

3) A DNA test kit

Uncover the mystery behind your partner’s pet with a thoughtful Valentine’s gift – a DNA test kit!

It’s an exciting and unique way to explore the diverse mix of breeds that make their furry friend truly special.

Give the gift of discovery this Valentine’s Day and celebrate the extraordinary uniqueness of their beloved pet with a truly unforgettable present!

4) A weekend getaway

If your dog is like my Buddy, Kenga, Doba or Kobe, they absolutely love going out and about. Consider booking a weekend getaway, complete with a spa vacation for your critter. Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to plan a special weekend getaway, creating unforgettable memories for both you and your furry friend.

Picture this: A cozy cabin retreat nestled in nature, where your dog can explore new trails, play in the fresh outdoors, and bask in the warmth of quality time together.

On the other paw, if your pet prefers a more laid-back experience, treat them to a weekend pampering session at home. Arrange for their favorite pet sitter to provide love and care while you enjoy your own getaway.

5) A beautiful, embroidered collar or dog collar charm

A custom collar with their pet’s name and phone number stitched brightly upon it is a special personalized gift to give. Picture your furry friend proudly wearing a collar that not only showcases their individuality but also ensures their safety with essential contact details.

And for an extra touch of charm – quite literally – consider adorning their existing collar with a whimsical dog collar charm.

My personal favorite is the Best in Show charm, a delightful token of acknowledgment for our pets who hold a special place in our hearts – you can view it here.

6) A session with an expert pet photographer

What better way to cherish the day than to have a fun photography session together with the whole family – and end up with photo keepsakes that last a lifetime?

The magic of professional pet photography lies in capturing the unique essence of your furry friend, freezing moments of joy, playfulness, and pure love in every frame. Don’t forget that pet photographers each have a unique style, so you can find one that has your same aesthetic to create something you’ll all love for years to come!

7) A regular spa day for Fluffy.

Consider giving the gift of a regular grooming for Fido or Fluffy to reduce allergens, loose hair and those oh-so-fun body odors.

Treat your furry friend to a pampering spa day, ensuring they look and feel their best all year round.

It’s not just about maintaining their hygiene; it’s a gesture of love that adds an extra layer of care to your pet’s routine, making every day a good fur day!

8) Or go extra-unique with an etching or painted portrait

Another beautiful artistic option is an etching of your pet from Greyboy Pet Photography at https://greyboypetportraits.com/ or a custom painting. Consider commissioning an intricate etching that showcases the fine details of your pet’s features or opt for a custom-painted portrait that adds a touch of artistic flair to your home.

Displayed on your wall or mantel, these unique artworks become a heartfelt celebration of the bond you share with your pet. Turning your space into a haven of cherished memories.

9) Dinner on a pet-friendly patio

Picture a charming evening with your pups, sharing a romantic dinner-for-two on a pet-friendly patio. If your dogs, like my adorable quartet, enjoy the outdoor dining experience, it becomes an extra special occasion.

Explore the charm of local restaurants, bars, and wineries that warmly welcome both dog moms and their beloved pets. Simply search online for “pet-friendly near me” to discover the perfect spot to create lasting memories together.

10) Need a gag gift? Consider a whole year of carefree furry hugs and snuggles.

Offer to cover the cost of flea and tick preventative for 12 months. Buy a gift certificate from your partner’s veterinarian to be sure you get their preferred brand. Lean into it and talk about how it compares to a vase full of red roses — but lasts SO much longer.

Make they have an eclectic sense of humor to ensure they’d appreciate this practical yet humorous gesture.

Whatever your partner’s preferences, including your pet in the gift-giving can add to the memory – and the laughs – long-term.

Surprise your dog-loving partner with one of my products.

My ‘To a Dog Mom’ Throw is the ultimate gift with a sentimental message. Check it out here. Or celebrate your dog-loving partner with a Paw Print Keepsake. Take a look here.
